Slingshirt with magnets–Best Shirt For People On the Sling
As I was reading about shirts with magnetic closures for people with parkinson’s or dressing difficulties, I came across sling shirt with magnets and I decided to dig into the topic because I believe so many people need them.
When you have had an arm fracture or elbow or shoulder surgery, you might find that you are having trouble getting dressed. If you are like me, you will frown at having a caregiver or a relative getting you dressed. You still want your privacy despite your inability to get dressed.
You might also not like the idea of hospital gowns since you are no longer in one but in recovery. Button downs also do not look so hip, do they?
Well, you need a cool looking shirt that is easy to wear and remove. It should also be loosely fitting. Well, what you are looking for is a sling shirt with magnets fitted on the shoulders as well as the midsection so that you do not struggle wearing it and it still covers you up.
If that description fits you, then you need the slingshirt that is meant for people who are on the sling.
With such a shirt, you are assured of comfortability as well as easy wear. In this post, we are going to be looking at the slingshirt fitted with magnetic snaps that Amazon has to offer. Let’s get into it.
Story of the SlingShirt—Shirt for People who are on the sling
The story of how the Slingshirt was discovered is rather a phony one. So, a college kiddo who goes by the name JC Coban gets a shoulder injury and has to undergo shoulder reconstruction surgery. After the surgery, he finds it hard to get dressed.
And he has to cry to mommy to get him dressed. But JC Coban is the type that does not want to bother mum. So he starts thinking and devising shirt designs that could fit him without much of a struggle. He tries Velcro, buttons, snaps and what-not.
And then he discovers the magic
That he could actually use magnetic buttons.
He goes ahead to embed them into his shirts and the Slingshirt is born.
Well, as the name suggests, this shirt is for people who are wearing a sling. With magnetic snaps fitted on it, you are able to easily put on your shirt with the uninjured arm, snaps the magnetic buttons into closure and boom, you are good to go. When you want to undress, it is also pretty easy since all you need to do is unsnap the magnets and the shirt will come off.
And because of the ease and the comfort that it provides people on the arm sling, we have nicknamed it as the best shirt to wear with an arm sling.
Sling Shirt–Clothing to wear with an arm sling
Let us explore its features, what we liked about it as well as what could do with a bit of improvements.
- Very easy to wear and remove
- Comfortable and restores the confidence of patients whose arms are on a sling
- With only 2 magnets at the midsection, the shirt though labeled as unisex would not be a good fit for women since it would leave out gaps where their breasts could easily show
How to put on a shirt with a sling on your arm
To answer this question on how to wear and even undress from the sling shirt with magnets, we have JC Coban himself demonstrating this through a Youtube video. You can watch it below:
