About the Inventors of Bottom Buddy
Sandy Pierre of Madison Twp., PA, and Bill Wenger of Trinidad, CA, co-invented the Bottom Buddy to restore dignity and independence for individuals facing challenges with personal hygiene. With over 25 years of healthcare experience, Sandy, a former Senior Management Engineer, witnessed firsthand the struggles of patients with arthritis, back injuries, and other conditions, while Bill, a PhD in engineering psychology and Senior Principal Research Scientist, brought his expertise in designing user-friendly systems to the table.
Their collaborative effort led to a novel, secure grip mechanism for extending reach with toilet tissue—a solution refined through extensive research, prototype testing, and invaluable user feedback, ultimately forming the foundation of Hygien’ease Technologies, LLC in 1998.

I love love this product!!! I am handicapped and felt so ashamed that I couldn’t take care of myself. Then I googled “how do obese people wipe their rear end”. And to my surprise there are things out there to help people in my position. I love this product it’s quite pricey over the rest of the things on the market that are like this. But I will pay the 40 plus dollars for this one over the other ones. I did order my brother one like this it’s a cheaper product because he needed one. And I did not want to pay the 41 plus dollars for your product for him. I had my first one for about a month and then I had it in the bathtub sprayed with bleach on it. And my dog got in the bathroom and ate the end off of it. I was so distraught because then I had to go back to asking for help. Until I get up the money to order your product again. So it took about a month and then I came up with the money and I ordered it as fast as I could. It couldn’t get here any faster and when it got here I was so happy. You just don’t know how happy I am to be able to take care of my personal problems.

I’ve tried many styles. This has been best for me. The paper stays on without any fuss. Doesn’t require a lot of coordination to use. They last almost a year before breaking.

I liked this product so much I purchased 2- 1 for home, the other for travel. The carry case made that easy, although it is not for a small purse. The device worked well for me but after six months I noticed a tear in one of the silicone head gripper. It held for a few months as I was very gentle, but then completely tore and now this very expensive device is no longer useful. I came back to buy a replacement and the price increase has me thinking twice as nothing looks different since my original purchase.

I had my right shoulder replaced. And I bought this so that I could use my left hand to do the daily necessary biz at the toilet. It could be better if the little clamp that opens up to hold the toilet paper was bigger. I’m giving it a 3 For that reason plus the fact that the button that you pushed open, it is very difficult to maneuver. I don’t know if there are better products for this purpose. I mean this will do, but it could be better.

There is no shame to the booty-cleaning game! I am a disabled combat veteran who suffers from a low back injury. For years now I’ve gone through countless therapy sessions, used several tools, etc. but the fact of the matter is that my low back still continues to slowly deteriorate. One major issue that came up this past winter 2014 was that with both the cold weather and the injury worsening I was having major troubles being able to properly wipe. Immediately I started doing research and asking questions to this problem. I invested on a bidet, which does help A LOT too, but to get a full and thorough cleaning this Bottom Buddy Toilet Tissue aid did the job! It is simple to use and extremely hygienic. I don’t know how it performs with regular toilet paper, since coming back from the war I use wet wipes now and always carry an extra supply with me in a Zip Lock bag; it’s a must have for me these days regardless of where I go to. I’ve had this tool for over a week now and I can’t express how happy I am to be able to have independent living again. By the way, the tool is made of a hard plastic with the exception of the part that secures the wet wipe, that appears to me to be made up of a soft silicone based product. It seems pretty sturdy to me, although I’ve read a few posts where some people were experiencing the tools breaking because of a cheap material. I can’t imagine how much pressure they were applying to it?!? Seriously, this tool looks are if easily it can apply a good 25 lbs of pressure, or more before it snaps…so I wonder how much pressure these folks were applying to it before it broke? By the way people, you use this tool from front to rear, on a one single swipe motion! It ain’t a tooth brush, and it can’t be used from a side swipe motion. Oh, also, the companies that make all these tools will not take refunds because of sanitation reasons, so make sure you “need one” NOT “would like one.”
